The text in menus in Libreoffice is currently using a large (20 points) font. How do I change i back to normal size?

Tools/options/LibreOffice → view, icon size and style → small,
perhaps. “Use system font for user interface”, too. “Scaling 100”. Check
system font of your desktop.

What fonts have you enabled in the system?
IIRC I noticed an issue in LO with Infinity Fonts
@robin_listas:
I seem to have these options already checked.
@caf4926:
Where do I check for enabled fonts?

It depends on the desktop, I think. XFCE setting manager has a “font
viewer”. There is a global directory for fonts, but I’m not sure the
desktops take them all.

I’m using KDE. In KDE control center “Sans serif 9” is selected for menus. Other progrmas (like Firefox) uses that font and size, while LibreOffice Uses a much larger font.
Try renaming the folder:
.config/libreoffice/
to .config/libreoffice-bak/
Unfortunately doesn’t change much.
Create a new user login and try it there
No change. The weird thing is that when I installed openSuse 2-3 weeks ago, the size of text in the menus was as other programs. I don’t know what I did that can have caused this.
Have you installed any additional fonts?
Yes.

SUSE Paste
Forgive my ignorance, but I don’t know what to do with that list.
I was just showing what I have installed
My guess is it’s something to do with that. I’ve seen it before as I mentioned at the outset.
Do test install in a VM if necessary and copy the folder from /usr/share/fonts
And use it to replace the one in your proper install

I compared a bit with my own list. I don’t have some you have (alee,
f.i.), and I have some you don’t (texlive). It is possible that LO is
using a set of fonts different than what most people use. But I don’t
know how to find that out.
Do you have set “use system font for user interface”? Options/LO/View.
I don’t remember if you tried this already: create a new user, and try
login as that user.
Also, try login with a different desktop, there are many, besides kde
and gnome.
If you tried that already, please ignore, just say so.

Ok, to summarize:
new user → same problem
different desktop → no problem
kde → problem
So you have a problem not with your user KDE config, but with KDE itself
(because a new user has problem, and non KDE desktop is fine).
I’m sorry, I do not know how to solve that. Either your KDE install is
bad (are you using the plain kde as distributed originally, or from some
repo combo?), or your font combination is bad (I think not, or the other
desktops would break, too).
I hesitate to suggest reinstall of KDE from OSS repo alone :-?
Or it is LO itself which is the problem :-?

Thanks, that solved the problem. I clicked and later unclicked “Force fonts DPI” and the problem was gone.
