Laptop won't boot past the mfr POST splash screen

That’s what it seems to be doing, which is why I couldn’t get into the
BIOS until it was unplugged. So now I have it unplugged and am using
USB Live drives until I can get a new hard drive.

Did you try re-plugging the device and see if the error is repeatable?

Yes, I wanted to check and make sure the hard drive wasn’t just unseated enough to throw an error.

Of course, Murphy’s Law will guarantee that the problem is in the disk
interface, not the drive, and that the new one will not work either. Good luck. :slight_smile:

Hopefully not :wink: The drive in the system was suspect from the get go,
guess the shipping probably killed it…
