It has a driver in place (iwlagn)
I have never seen this device before, but I found this thread
Intel Centrino Advanced - Linux Compatible?
Read it all
This is possibly what you need: http://software.opensuse.org/ymp/driver:wireless/11.4-update/compat-wireless-kmp-desktop.ymp?base=openSUSE%3A11.4&query=compat+wireless
I see one user comment using ifup not network manager
i tried this step but not working.i can’t understand the message of the thread given by you.is there any chance to do this with ndiswrapper(i used this successfully in linux mint 10 kde?
It a last resort but it’s in the repos
Guide: Madwifi or Ndiswrapper Wireless Network Drivers - Suse/openSUSE 10, 11.0
To install just do
zypper in ndiswrapper
Then follow the guide above. You need the wireless driver from XP I think (Only XP)
i followed your steps.i get the following output
Loading repository data…
Reading installed packages…
‘ndiswrapper’ is already installed.
No update candidate for ‘ndiswrapper-1.56-11.3.i586’. The highest available version is already installed.
Resolving package dependencies…
Nothing to do.
yes.i searched in softwares.opensuse.org for ndiswrapper and installed that package.but i can’t found it on my installed softwares list.
Thank you.
Follow the guide or wait for more help. I never used it myself.
hi caf i followed that guide please read the installing Ndiswrapper in the guide for me.i can’t copy anything in root filesystem.but should copy a .inf file in suse filesystem she wrote.
How to do this?
Do you have the .inf file mentioned, that’s the XP driver information file?
Are you using kde or gnome
Yes.I’m having that file.I’m using kde and gnome.you can tell me information for kde.
To copy the info in kde
Use Dolphin (super user) file manager, which will let you edit the root files etc…
Be careful
frednurk@suse110:~> su
Password:
suse110 # ndiswrapper -i /path_to/abcde.inf
above is in the guide.i can’t do it correct.can u tell me what does it mean path_to?
i skip the above step and entered this code ndiswrapper -l i get the following output
NETw5x32.INF : invalid driver!
please help me.
It means where the driver is located
Eg: /home/kernelcruncher
Is the path to my home user directory
NETw5x32.INF : invalid driver! (Is that the name of the .inf file you have?)
Yes this is the name of my .inf file.
i entered the following command
frednurk@suse110:~> su
Password:
suse110 # ndiswrapper -i /path_to/abcde.inf
here i entered my path to the .inf driver.i get the following output
If ‘suse110’ is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this:
cnf suse110
what can i do next?

I see 5 XP driver versions here
http://tinyurl.com/ykhxf5g
which version did you try and for which windows version?
On ubuntu forums it is mentioned that only older driver versions work.
I would download all of them and try one after the other, try the 32bit XP
versions with ndiswrapper.

Sorry again, a question, because I do not understand:
Where does the NETw5x32.INF come from?
When I check the Intel Driver for your wireless Intel Corporation Centrino
Advanced-N 6200 [8086:4239] (rev 35)
I can nowhere see a inf with that name in the downloaded driver archive.
The names are similar but not the same! Are you sure that is the inf file
for the correct device and for the correct operating system (XP)?

Yes it is a windows xp driver.
become su
like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Wv-IaDsitA)
Then enter
ndiswrapper -i /path_to/abcde.inf
(adjusting the path as necessary)
You seem very confused. Which is exactly why I told you not to mess with the boot splash
