Laptop volume control

Hello,

This is my first time running Opensuse. I am on 11.2 using KDE. I installed from the Live disc. I wanted a change from Debian based distros so that I could learn RPM, so I switched to SuSE. All is well except one annoyance; I can’t get the volume keys on the keyboard to work. Sound works, but the keyboard keys do nothing. I cannot set them anywhere else.

Help would be greatly appreciated. This is the only distro (out of many) where this hasn’t worked.

It might be helpful to supply more details about your computer, as the solution will be hardware specific. Brand/model? I don’t know for sure, but it might be a matter of configuring the correct keyboard layout.
