Laptop Screen Brighness

Hi All - I am a recent ubuntu convert…

I am using openSuse 11 and KDE 4.1.2 “release 45.3”, all is well so far except that since my last update my screen keeps dimming regardless of what settings i select in kpowersave.

If i use the keyboard shortcut to increase the brightness it only lasts a second or two before the screen dims again.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

OK - I solved it!

I removed kpowersave and installed powerdevil (a control centre module) from the repositories, seems to do the job nicely!

Apparently it will be part of kdebase from 4.2 onwards.
