Looking for any recommendations for a Laptop. Must run Linux:
i7 core pref
8+ GB RAM
1TB+ HDD
Intel GPU would be fine (not hybrid though)
Doesn’t need any OS pre-installed
If EFI: Known to be friendly/OK

I’ve been really happy with my Dell N7110. It’s now a couple years old,
but an i7 and 8 GB of memory. The only issue I’ve had is that the
touchpad configuration doesn’t disable when I’m typing on the keyboard,
but I’ve worked around that by getting a bluetooth mouse and disabling
the touchpad when I’m not “docked” (I don’t exactly “dock,” but I have an
external keyboard/wacom tablet that’s shared using synergy+).

Lenovo Thinkpad W530, they were the ones we used during the various
workshops at SUSEcon. They were i7 core, 32GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD’s running
SLED 11 SP3…
Else look around at a HP (would be my preference as have three now and
no issues with linux). A DELL would be my second choice, third would be
a MAC pro.

I’ve been very happy with my Toshiba Satellite Ultrabook Z930. Its a Core-i7 with a 256GB SSD drive. It is so light (at 1.1 kg) that I carry it to work every day (and I walk to work). If I go to a party, I put it in a neoprene sleeve and have it in my backpack (so I can connect to the office servers download spacecraft telemetry in a hurry, if one of our spacecraft have a problem).
Unfortunately, I do not believe Toshiba make this model available any more.
But if you can afford an Ultrabook, and find a model that you like wrt screen and interfaces, and if you carry your laptop a lot, then I recommend such. The lighter weight does make a difference, especially if one walks a lot with the laptop (ultrabook in my case) in a computer bag.
