Hi everyone,
first of all, apologies for lousy first post but I guess in a way that’s a given.
I’ll try to keep this as brief as possible while giving hopefully sufficient infos.
HW : Thinkpad T430 with Intel HD4000 graphics
SW : OS Tumbleweed (had the same issue on Leap 42.2)
DE : KDE
Driver as shown by YAST : modprobe i915
Problem : dual monitors positioning etc.
Description : T430 is used with external monitor docked, connected with Display Adapter on dock. If lid is closed and laptop is suspended, when awaken with lid closed, system shows/acts as if laptop monitor is active. At that point I edit display settings, but it’s a bit annoying to do it each time.
Since I’ve seen a lot mentions of KDE playing a part in these matters, most of my search was based on that, so when I did not succeed, I decided to try with XFCE and GNOME. To my surprise, behaviour is the same. (is it possible that KDE is influencing that part although not active ?)
I can also set monitors with Arandr, but in that case ,after opening the lid, it stays off as in, it remembers my setup, but doesn’t adapt to new one.
A reboot usually solves it, although it can result in mixed up positioning of monitors, as well as mixed up primary/secondary one.
Probably redundant info : laptop screen is to the left, primary display when connected to external monitor should be external monitor.
I 'm a linux noob, but I’m more than willing to search more on the problem, it’s just that I’ve exhausted my keywords
Thanks in advance
