LAN connection not getting switched on in laptop

Today I was trying to get my LAN connected to my laptop. LAN was connecting a while ago. After i restarted my laptop it stopped working. I removed the previous setting and tried again.

Settings -> Network -> Wired -> Security -> 802.1x security. Authentication is PEAP, no CA certificate required, PEAP version is Automatic, inner authentication is MSCHAPv2. I filled up my username and password. Then Apply. But this has stopped working. Whenever i try to toggle the button to ON position it goes back to OFF position. The password also never gets stored.

WiFi connects but it is quite weak and slow also. So LAN is really a better option for me.

All these days while using my WiFi i kept getting pop-up messages like Connection failed, but the WiFi was actually connected but the speed was slow.

Seems to be working now.

@samrat_rao:

Did you reboot the Laptop after reporting this issue?

Yes, a few times. Not sure why LAN started working again. LAN is working with Airplane Mode On.

However if i connect to WiFi after turning off the Airplane Mode as well as wired connection, i keep getting the Connection failed popup. I don’t think that this Connection failed thingy is due to any weak signal cos the annoying popup keeps coming even where the signal is strong. Some other issue is up.
