Since taking up SUSE 12.2 recently, I have used KWrite now and then. No complaints, very nice and easy to use. But today I wrote my first shell script using KWrite. The script runs successfuly! However when I click, in Dolphin, to open the file, to make a little change, it pesters me insisting I use some other editor. I installed emacs - one of its offerings, but I cannot make head or tale of that one and prefer to stay away from something so complicated. I checked “do not ask again” and now, when clicking the file in Dolphin, it will not open at all, clicking has no effect whatsoever.
The only way I can open the filet and save a change, is to first open KWrite and then open the script file from there…that’s going back to pre-Windows 95 days!
Right-click on the file: Properties. Choose the little wrench icon next
to the file type. Move ‘kwrite’ to the top of the list of applications
and save.
