Hello.
Each time I attempt to install a wine app the KDE desktop crashes and so the app will not install. I have am sure this is an opensuse problem rather than wine. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Sorry I can’t help you but I installed sketchup with wine and it work in openSUSE 12.1
Can you tell what version of openSUSE you are using so others might have an idea of
the problem.
oh sorry forgot to mention … I am running 12.1… I have just now upraded from 11.3. When doing a search i noticed there have been quite a few crashes with KDE for various reasons with 12.1. I failed to locate anyone else who crash as I do…when intsalling wine apps that is. Any help or direction is appreciated.
I am using the wine from openSUSE wine repo not the one included in the dvd.

Some tips for posting:
- Give accurate information. People here are volunteers, they cannot help you by testing what you did if you just say “a wine app”.
- Post output literally. The KDE desktop does not just crash, it shows you info on why it crashed, Post that here, between CODE tags.
How did you upgrade from 11.3 ? Did you perform a new install or did you update the system using a CD or DVD. The latter is not advized.
I get same result with all wine vesions I have used including the one you have mentioned.
This is the error message " Executable: kwin PID: 2938 Signal: Aborted (6) ". Not sure what you mean by CODE tags.
I upgraded by a cd that I burned from the dowload but also I consider that a new install since I completely deleted the 11.3 … if we are using the word “install” the same I`m not sure. OK new install rather than upgrade I should have said.
