KVM - virt manager - no VM won't boot - VMs CPU at 100%

Hi,

after newly install of kvm and virt-manager, VMs won’t boot. Not existing ones nor newly created. When starting VM, nothing happens, only black screen is visible and VMs CPU is running at 100%.
No error is displayed.

Does anybody else have the same problem?

Kind Regards

… can confirm the solution for Slowroll.
Same behavior:

  • “Display output is not active”
  • VMs CPU is running at 100%
  • shutdown impossible

Downgraded qemu-ovmf-x86_64: 202502-1.1 → 202411-1.2
Message “Display output is not active” still remains, but usual output (login screen) is there again. CPU is running at normal load and you can shutdown the guest from vmm.
