Guys,
In my desktop machine, the system is continously generating core dumps (systemd coredumps) for kuiserver and tracker-extract.
Well, I have no glue on what to do with core files, to even now what is happening, and I got annoyed that dolphin file search is not working (it always finds nothing, even in basic search), and I guess that it does not work 'cause of some trouble with tracker.
Well, tracker stop coredump when I kill all tracker process, and kuiserver is more likely coredumps on system events, like righ-clicking in a file in dolphin, so it doesn’t bothe me so much.
But still, I have a system that doesn’ t work properly, and I have no idea on what to do next,
Could you give me any help ?

Why do you have tracker installed ? It’s GNOME’s indexing service. For KDE it’s baloo. Which runs fine on my Leap machines, and Dolphin file search works as expected too.
All this makes me wonder whether you added extra repos …
Please show output of
zypper lr -d
, between CODE tags, the # in the layout ribbon.

Rly? Maybe so I just disable/remove tracker and that solves one problem, I guess. But then, I guess, I still have something to do with baloo.

You seem to have several of them twice (you can see that yourself of course). That makes maintaining (and for others studying) the list not easier I assume (and it will create some overhead also).
As the OP seems to have gone silent, may I step in with a similar plethora of core dump issues? My dumps are with kcminit, kate, dolphin, just about anything I am running. The dumps start only after I have been active for a while and once one shows up, it seems to spread.
My System:
Leap 42.3
KDE Plasma: 5.8.7
KDE Frameworks: 5.32.0
QT Version: 5.62
Kernel Version: 4.4.104-39-default
Processor: Intel i7-5820K @ 3.30GHz
Memory: 32 GB

I am running with the nouveau driver although I do have the nvidia repository configured.
I also have other DE’s installed: Cinnamon, Gnome, Mate
The vast majority of my dumps are in KDE, although I had one in Mate. If I turn on composting in KDE I can generate a crash usually within minutes. Sometimes the crash locks my entire desktop and my keyboard is unresponsive. The only way to break it is to ssh in from my laptop and kill startkde.
I do not have tracker running on my system, at least not in KDE.
Your guidance will be greatly appreciated.

When you are not 100% sure you have the same issue, you better start a new thread. As it is now only those who are (still) subscribed to this thread will see your post. When starting a new thread (with a goog title) chances that more people will see it are far greater.
Thank you. I will do that. I think before I open a new thread, I will try and find some sort of consistency in when the dumps happen as the information may prove useful.
