ksysguardd - unknown device property 'totalio'

HI All,

I am on OS 11.1 & KDE4.3 (just updated to 4.2.88svn973768-266.1)

For the past few weeks i am noticing messages in the log.

May 31 18:24:38 LinuxDskTp ksysguardd[4347]: cannot open config file ‘/usr/etc/ksysguarddrc’
May 31 18:24:43 LinuxDskTp ksysguardd[4347]: Request for unknown device property ‘totalio’**

The first line shows up once during boot
But, the second line repeats around 30 times in a sec during boot and then randomly. it shows up in bursts of 25/30 each time.

Any ideas ? wanted to confirm before reporting a bug

Same problem here. I think it has something to do with firewire, at least in my case. I’m trying to get my firewire soundcard to work under ffado, and everytime I connect it to my computer I get these ksysguardd totalio error messages.

I got a reply which looks like there is some issue with the build and work around is to create the folder and a link.

hmm, looks like the packages you are using are build wrong.
The file ksysguarddrc should be located under /etc/ not /usr/etc.
Is there a file under /etc/ ? If yes, just create a symlink

mkdir /usr/etc
ln -s /etc/ksysguarddrc /usr/etc/ksysguarddrc

and ksysguardd should work properly again.
