In everyday use, I use Krusader extensively (in fact, one of my 8 virtual desktops is dedicated to a permanently open instance of Krusader which I never close). Although I think it’s simply irreplaceable, I get the impression that not many KDE users use it. Why do you think it’s not more popular? Do you use it? What are the features of Krusader you appreciate the most?
I kind of agree with your sentiments, though I do find I can mostly achieve in Dolphin what I would want from Krusader.
Last time I added it, it kept opening multiple instances at login.
It’s nice to have the choice though isn’t it.

I use Krusader’s grandpappy, Midnight Commander. And, used the original Norton
Commander it is based on. Try it.

I totally agree. I’ve been using openSuse 10.3 for a year. One of first apps I had to get was Krusader. Konqueror, no way, I’ve got to have dual pane ala Norton Commander (Midnight)… That’s where it’s at. I do a lot of file moving from one dir to another and I need 2 panes… My 2cents… 
I was impressed Krusader when i first came across it. It reminded me if the various early directory utilities on the amiga.
One of the best features I’ve not see added in the latest version is the rename using metafile information, loved getting my fonts renamed to the longer version, have a collection in and 8.3 form from a cd… Hopefully this will return, (yeah i know that it uses krename for that)
There are features i like from dolphin and krusader that i wish were all in one.
