Krdc in KDE4 vs KDE3

Is is just me, or does the Krdc (KDE’s vnc client) in KDE-3 seem
faster/slicker than the new version in KDE-4? I’m connecting to my
remote system at work thru a VPN tunnel from home. All my remote
graphics are a little slow that way, but with the KDE-4 version they
seem even slower (more ghosting as I move windows around, etc).

Another thing I don’t like about KDE-4 version is that I can’t seem to
hide the tab bar/window frame which just takes up space (I’ve already
clicked No Borders for the KDE window).

In KDE3, the cursor is always local but it takes on the remote cursor
image. With the KDE4 version you get the local cursor as a little black
box and the remote cursor is separate and slower.

I know that Krdc is just a front end for a vnc client, but what was so
different about the KDE3 version that accounts for these things?

what version of kde4 are you using? I’m using kde 4.1.3 and KRDC doesn’t
do those things for me.

I am running it to remote in locally though. So some of that my be
because of the local v VPN.

I’m on KDE 4.1.3. Which of “those things” are you referring to?

I don’t have two cursors and slow speed that you were talking about.
