kpowersave Suspend 2 Ram doesn't work

I can’t get my laptop to sleep.
After the suspend failed, my wifi and sound stopped working too.

Hello !
Have you read this page ?
S2ram - openSUSE
Your machine seems not to be in the s2ram whitelist (your log says:

Machine is unknown.
This machine can be identified by:
    sys_vendor   = "Hewlett-Packard"
    sys_product  = "Compaq Presario C700 Notebook PC"
    sys_version  = "F.32"
    bios_version = "F.32"
See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details.

Look at this part of the s2ral wiki
S2ram - openSUSE

Try, in a console, to suspend using the command

su -

then

s2ram -f

If it doesn’t work, try several parameters from the page I mention above.

Once it works, don’t hesite to come back here so we can contact the dev to add you computer to the whitelist :slight_smile:

ps: could you also be more specific on what doesn’t work ?
I guess, right now, you computer only lock the screen ?

Thanks for the info!
s2ram -f works fine on my machine:

sys_vendor   = "Hewlett-Packard"
sys_product  = "HP Compaq dc7800p Ultra-slim Desktop"
sys_version  = " "
bios_version = "786F1 v01.04"

Running Opensuse 11 KDE 3.5.9

hi
s2ram -f worked!
But I could not get my screen to come back. I had to do a forced shutdown and restart it to get my screen.

Sorry to here that. Guess you will have to do as the S2Ram site suggests and trawl through the switch options to find a working combination:

* s2ram -f -a 3
* s2ram -f -a 2
* s2ram -f -a 1
* s2ram -f -p -m
* s2ram -f -p -s
* s2ram -f -m
* s2ram -f -s
* s2ram -f -p
* s2ram -f -a 1 -m
* s2ram -f -a 1 -s

If none of those combinations work, start again but add the “-v” switch.
