KOrganizer data location.

This morning I managed to hose akonadi by attempting to fsck the data base using akonadictl. I lost all my email folders and their contents in kmail, my calendar in korganizer and my address book in kaddressbook. Kmail, which couldn’t find any folders, has managed to magically restore itself. Unfortunately my calendar and addressbook are gone. I do have a backup of my home directory as of Saturday (including hidden files), but I don’t know what files to restore. Where would the calendar and addressbook files be located? What should I restore to get that data back? I’m using KDE Frameworks 5.20.0 and QT 5.6. My KOrganizer version is 5.1.3.

I’d really appreciate any help.

Thanks.

This might not be much help because my KOrganizer is version 4.14.10 and stores the Personal Calendar file at ~/.kde4/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics.

Perhaps v5 would store its files in ~/.local/share/korganizer.

You’d think. That’s the first place I looked. There’s nothing except a couple of empty folders both on disk and in the backup.

I just took a quick look at some of the source code. Do you find a “~/.calendar” file?

I checked that. No luck.

Hopefully this will help:

Thanks for the reference. It helps me understand what’s happening. Unfortunately, there is no calendar file in .local/share/contacts. I did start a new calendar, hoping to see where that would show up. It appeared in the calendar listing of korganizer as akonadi_ical_resource_7. When I right clicked on it to look at calendar properties, it showed up with a file listing to a .ics file in my Documents directory. I had found that file before, but the date on both the one on disk and the one in backup was from January, 2015. Now it seems, korganizer is saving itself to that file. I added a new entry to the calendar and it immediately updated that old file and seems to be doing it each time I add an entry. Where the old entries were going is a mystery that I suppose is specific to Opensuse.
