I am running KOrganizer 5.4.80 on frameworks 5.33.0 and Qt 5.8.0. It is consuming massive amounts of memory. This morning, for example, a single akonadi ical resource was using over 8 gigabytes which it accumulated over night. At various times I’ve found KOrganizer itself using over 3 gigs, Korgac using 2 gigs, and an ical resource using over 1 gig simultaneously before I terminated them. This is obviously unsupportable. Is there a fix?
I wish I had a GOOD fix for you but the only fix I seem to have been able to successfully get to stick for a period of time is to wipe out the calendar and add it back. For some odd reason, there is this issue that has happens to me occasionally on upgrades where Korganizer gets all memory greedy. This has only happened to me with Korganizer over the years since the introduction of the akonadi framework and I have multiple machines running very similar setups yet it doesn’t always affect all of them upon upgrades. I cannot effectively reproduce this bug.
If that doesn’t fix your problem, let me know as there is a more… intense way… of fixing the problem that I would only do if it is absolutely necessary.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for the answer, Nathan. I got frustrated and downgraded QT5 and Framework to the old version. That definitely solved the problem. Next time I get the itch to upgrade I’ll try your fix.
