Kopete: Can't connect to Yahoo network

I know, I know, supposedly Kopete has been updated for Yahoo, but I’m not able to log onto Yahoo’s network. Can anyone help?

I’ve run Kopete from CLI, here’s the feedback I get (I got two Yahoo accounts, therefore error messages appear twice):

Kopete works under openSUSE 11.0 (KDE 3), but only because (I think) the
official cut-off date for the old protocol is around mid-August (??).

AFAIK, Kopete hasn’t been updated to handle the new protocol… but maybe
I missed that… at least, not inside the standard update repo.

Anyhow, my kopete under 11.0 continues to function for now… just as an
fyi. I think it’s set to automatic with regards to what yahoo server to
use.

I updated to the latest kopete in 11.1 from kde 4.3 and kopete is working here with yahoo.

A lot of people have told me that their installation works fine. I wonder what’s different about my system … :\

Will file a bug report.

Maybe you are logged onto it online? I noticed when I logged online to Yahoo IM Kopete booted me.

Edit: I set up my chat status in Yahoo Email, the one next to my name, and thats when Kopete booted me. Maybe yours is set to something other then offline?

suse_amd64x2, thanks, that is a good point, as I’ve been required to use Yahoo’s web-based nowadays. But no, I’m logged out, so things should be fine. :\

I am going to take another guess. Maybe it is the port or server info?

Naw, I got the same server / port settings. That is, I’ve set it to automatic, so the settings are grayed out, but even when I activate them (that is, set the server you mentioned), I still can’t connect.

Just tried to erase all my personal Kopete settings from ~/kde4/share/apps/kopete, but that didn’t help either … :\
