Konsole window snaps to edges when moved between dual monitors.

I’ve tried to finds a solution to this, but haven’t had much luck. I have a laptop hooked up to an external monitor. Whenever I move a konsole window between the laptop monitor and the external monitor (or vice versa), the konsole window automatically resizes (which I don’t want).

The resizing is a little weird too. Only the width of the konsole resizes (the height stays the same), and it always resizes so that the width of the konsole window fits the whole width of the monitor (basically the left and right edge of the konsole window snaps to the left and right edge of the monitor. This is annoying since I don’t need a konsole the width of my 24’’ monitor). This happens ONLY with the Konsole, and with no other programs.

Does anybody have any tips of how to turn this off? I’ve tried looking around but failed. Thanks.

Hello shamasu,

I’ve never encountered such a problem, even though I move Konsole windows to my second monitor quite often.
Anyway I think you can find a solution in using Window-Specific settings.
Open a Konsole window, click on the icon in the titlebar of the window and select Advanced->Special Application Settings.

I think the option “Maximized Horizontally” under the “Size & Position” tab might do the trick.
Set it to “Force” and make sure No is checked.

Good luck!

That worked perfectly. Thanks a bunch.
