Since the plasma5 the text highlighting in the Konsole terminal emulator has changed. At least on my machine folders are no longer highlighted.
xterm still has the old highlighting.
How can I change that/get the old highlighting back?
Cheers

Is no one here that knows how to do this?
And what do you mean exactly?
Neither xterm nor Konsole highlight any folders themselves.
Then I don’t know what does. But I made screenshots that will make clear what I want. See susepaste:

So, you mean the output of “ls”? Well, “ls” does the coloring in that case of course…
You can turn it on by using the “–color” switch, but it should be on by default in openSUSE anyway, and it seems to be on on your screenshot too, just directories seem not to be colored.
The actual colors used are defined in /etc/DIR_COLORS and can be overridden per user in ~/.dir_colors.
But if that works in xterm, the configuration should be ok.
The only thing I can imagine at the moment that might “break” it at the moment is the configured color scheme in Konsole.
Which one are you using? Try to set a different one.
Btw, the KF5 based Konsole looks exactly the same here regarding this as the KDE4 one.
Ah, ok. So the issue is apparently that I would need to change the coloring. Is that easy/possible? I’d like to keep “Solarized” as my colorscheme…
Right. If I set “Solarized” as colorscheme, directories are not colored any more here too, just bold (even in KDE4’s Konsole).
You can modify a colorscheme by selecting it in the “Edit Current Profile” dialog and click on “Edit…”.
The color used for directories seems to be the intense “Color 5” (with the default ls/dircolors settings).
