Konsole launches in unexpected places

Hi,
I am encountering a minor but puzzling behaviour. When I launch konsole, it sometimes appears in different places on the screen. If I leave it open at log out time (in the primary monitor), next time I log in, it often appears in the secondary monitor!. :
Even my KDE menu is in the primary monitor it sometimes launches in the secondary one.
This did not happen in 15.3 or any other previous versions.
Any ideas of what it might be? I cannot work this one out.

That settings could be in:
Right click the window title-More Actions-special window/application settings

Thank you. I can’t see see anything obvious in there.

@tfleto:

I vaguely recall that, the KDE Plasma developers changed the behaviour of “Minimal overlapping” Window placement setting.

  • And, there’s also a new check-box in the Window Behaviour System Setting, which allows applications to save their position on the screen(s) – provided that, the application supports this feature.

If you can’t see it there you have to add it.

Click add property the one you need is the “position”. either you choose, remember or force
do what works.

I am not really using KDE I am on xfce the only thing is I switched to kwin that’s why I can see those options.

Oh, I see. Thank you. Done! and yes it appears where I set it to. I will check if after rebooting the position is preserved.
I am starting to think that this might have to do with the way the screens are identified. When I boot up, the bios password screen appears one in the right monitor. They are swapped in the system settings “Display and Monitor” and also in the nvidia application so the primary monitor is the one on the left and that seems to work fine for everything except the konsole.

Thank you again!

Well, on reboot the open konsole that existed at shutdown, reappears in the “other” monitor (although in the right size and position).
This is odd, it never happened in any previous versions of Leap.
KDE seems to be confused about which is the primary monitor…
Has anybody seen something like this?
