Hi, I have a problem loggin into my country’s Tax and Customs Administration’s web site. This web site is SSL secured. I am able to log in, but when click the ‘Continue’ button on the first page to move on to the second page, I end up in the login screen again. I have tried different fake-user-agent settings but to no effect. I have noticed this in a couple of other sites as well but it never occurred to me that this was a Konqueror problem. I couldn’t find any information on this forum, in the Ubuntu forums however someone has logged the same issue:
Not really, since we don’t know the site in question. There are other browsers you could try such as Firefox or Opera.
It’s true, that some sites have been specifically designed only to work with IE. But they are few and far between these days. The K browser has identify as options in the tools tab. Have you tried changing it?
Yes I’ve tried to change the fake identification settings but that didn’t help. I don’t think this is really a problem with that site since I’ve had this happen on other sites as well, but I don’t really remember which ones. I would like to continue using konqueror since it integrates with kde better than firefox, storing passwords in kwallet etc. but of course, it’s not such a big deal to use firefox instead. Well anyway, thanks for your reply.
freedguy, tried it but it didn’t work either. I’ll post back as soon as I’ve found another site with the same problem. I think it has something to do with these SSL sessions.
