Konqueror on Tumleweed

Does anyone know why konqueror has been dropped from the dvd snapshot DVD?

Also is there any news on fixing Konqueror - so that it keeps its adjusted size (rather than reverting to the small size when started again?

Thanks

Has it been dropped?

Actually only a few weeks ago Konqueror has been added to the LiveCD and Firefox dropped for space reasons.

No idea idea about the installation DVD though.
If it is missing, it’s likely because it is not installed by default (for some time already).
But it is in the online repos anyway.

No news, but you can force a specific window size via window rules.

Thanks very much for posting wolfi.

Of course not a problem to install konqueror using the main repo - it just struck me as a bit strange that for a kde focused distro it was not included within the 4.4 gb install iso.

I will monitor the bug entry - thanks very much for the link.

Well, Konqueror is not installed by default any more since a while, some time before 42.2.

The reasons probably were that Konqueror was not considered to be up-to-date any more and maybe a security risk even (using Qt4/QtWebKit4 which is end of life and unsupported since nearly two years now), and that Firefox is the default web browser since years and it doesn’t really make sense to install two “web browsers” by default. At least I remember reading these in some mailing list discussion a few months ago.

The first reason is somewhat void again now with the port to Qt5, but the second one is of course still valid…
