[Konq~] How to disable the "move here / copy here / link here" menu on drag 'n' drop?

The meaningful title of this thread needs no further explanations.
I surfed for several hours the web before posting here, so that I hope you won’t answer me with something like** “please, press ctrl+x / ctrl-v” **or **“please, drag pressing shift” **etc/etera!!!
I just want the absolutely bothering popup menu to be disabled!

So do you always want it to make a link???
or maybe always move
or always copy?

I don’t see how the computer can read your mind.

“Moving” is the most common operation, and I think we are all agree, so if I would copy or link I should press shift, alt or ctrl (yes, it’s the first and last MS Windows feature I found useful, don’t say “no” :P).

Well, there is no way?

I don’t understand your question
Are you talking about the context menu options?

you don’t say what operating system or desktop environment you are
using so i assume you use what i use:

drag pressing “shift” moves the object…

drag pressing “Ctrl” copies…

drag pressing “Shift + Ctrl” makes a link…

all easy peasy with no annoying pop up…

is none of that covered in the Konqueror Handbook [easily found here
by pressing F1 while Konqueror has system focus]?

strange that your system wouldn’t have such basic documentation
readily available (no Google required for several hours)…

i have to wonder if you elected to not install the default help files??

I think that he wants to get rid of the menu you have when you drag 'n drop a file without pressing any key. He wants in that case the file to be moved to the new folder.
I don’t know any way to do this. For me is very useful the normal behavior and what DenverD says if you want to avoid the menu.

@wrbbt: exactly. (English is not my language, but the message I wrote doesn’t seem so wrong )

@others nervous users: in this beatiful World everybody is useful and nobody is indispensable; my question was accurate, the answer should be too, "yes: you have to… " or “no”; i am absolutely not interested in your pedantic opinion: i asked you just to answer “yes: you have to…” or “no”.

“Moving” is the most common operation …]

I am pretty sure in Windows it is “copying” by default.

Either way, I think there’s no way of getting rid of this context-menu.

@fullvestito
What you call nervous users are users who are helping a lot of people, among which I include myself. If one of them becomes impatient, is something quite understandable becase all of us do sometimes. Maybe they resented from you treating the matter too hard as it was a mistake, not only an option (“the absolutely bothering popup menu”, for instance) and react in a defensive tone.
I have always felt very welcome in this forum, and I’m sure you will be too.

It is when you drag 'n drop between diferent file systems or diferent hard disks. Between folders in the same hd the default is moving, I think.

yes: there is a way to set the default drag to move, without a menu
popup but, you have to figure out the rest without my pedantic opinions.

But at least you can post it for other people, like me, to know.
