KNotes do not save in OpenSuSE 13.1

Previously (in OpenSuSE 11, 12), when I used KNotes, the notes would automatically save, so that even if I closed the note and reopened KNotes, the notes would still be there. They would only go away if I right-clicked the note and selected Delete. Now, I cannot find a way to get the notes to save. Whenever I close the note, I have not found a way to retrieve them. For good measure, I blew away ~/.kde4/share/config/knotesrcand ~/.kde4/share/apps/knotes and retried the process, but no luck.

Is this a problem with my configuration or is this a bug in OpenSuSE? Is there an alternative to KNotes that is recommended? I’m running KDE 4 on OpenSuSE 13.1.

Hm, this works fine here. I’m on KDE 4.12.4 at the moment, but I haven’t had any problems with 4.11.x either.

Which KDE version are you using? The one included with openSUSE 13.1 I suppose? That would be 4.11.
Have you installed all updates?
Have you rebooted after installing all updates? (installing KDE updates can have strange effects in the running session)

I would suggest to create a new user and try if it works there or not.

I just tried it on my desktop here, and the notes seem to save OK (I
tested in GNOME, but that shouldn’t make a difference).

So it seems to be something in your configuration. I don’t know a lot
about the app itself, so someone else will probably need to help you out
here, but something you might try is creating a test user, login as that
user and see if you can reproduce the issue with a clean profile.
