Knetworkmanager can't be minimized to system tray panel

Hi,

After upgraded to 11.3. Do a operation that active a network node, the Knetworkmananger will active a display on “Task Bar” (see figure 1). And it can’t be minimized to “System Tray Panel”, just can’t be minimized to “Task Bar”.

And the network list display pops up without all display some time (see figure 2), it’s very boring.

If I kill the Kneworkmananger and restart it again, it will just have a Icon on “System Tray Panel” normally. But if it change to another network node automatically or I change it by clicking the icon, the display on “Task Tar” will appear and can’t be resume to “System Tray”, just like mentioned above.

I don’t know why have this problem, I tried to reinstall the Knetworkmanager, but the problem also exist.

I hope someone can help me fix this problem, thanks very much!

Create a new user account. Login with it and see if the same happens there. What happens there will determine a course of action.

Hi, caf4926,

Thanks for your reply firstly!

I created a new user, and login with it. The result is have no the same happens.
So, maybe it’s related with my personal settings. But I don’t know which parameter I done a wrong setting yet.
I still need your help! Thank you!

OK - so we know the settings in your normal account are causing the problem.

My first thought is to try changing your theme to a basic one like oxygen. And try disabling desktop effects too.

Report back before we try something more drastic

Thank you very much for your suggestion!
I’m very glad to tell you that I have solved this problem.

I found the file “~/.kde4/share/config/networkmanangementrc” have several strange line in the end. So, I killed Knetworkmananger and removed this file, then restart Knetworkmananger, let it generate that file automatically. Now, that problem don’t appear.

I’m regret that I haven’t read the end line of that file carefully before I removed it.
So, I can’t provide it to you analyze why it can cause that problem. Sorry!

I figured something like that might do it

Nicely done.!
