knetworkconf not working

:frowning:
I just try to install kde4-knetworkconf package. knetworkmanager was installed by default but I want to have KDE4 apps for network management. Anyway, knetworkconf suppose to be part of systemsettings and after installation I got another icon in systemsetings window regarding network configuration but when I click on it I get “Could not parse the XML file ().”… twice.
I tried to start systemsettings as super-user (kdesu) but then I don’t get that fourth icon for network interfaces settings at all. Is anyone have same problem or know how to deal with this?

Laptop: You need to install NetworkManager-kde4. Then you right-click on the panel, unlock widgets, add widget, search for network, select Network Management, and you’ll have a new ‘icon’ on the panel, allowing you to configure wireless and wired networks.
PC/Sever: You need to go into Yast, Yet another Setup Tool, the administrator part of openSUSE, and go to Network Services - Network Devices. In openSUSE you don’t configure ‘Connections’ like in Windozes, you configure the device.

Hope this helps you out

Well that didn’t solve my problem with knetworkconf but make me realize that I don’t need knetworkconf aswell as NetworkManager-kde4 and NetworkManager
So I remove all of them and set up my network card manualy from Yast with fixed IP adress and other net params.
Anyway, thank you for opening my eyes
