In Gnome 2.22 (nm-applet) and in KDE3 with Opensuse 10.3 there was a lock icon that would show up over the knetworkmanager connection icon. However, in 11.0 when I connect to a vpn network via the vnpc plugin for knetworkmanager no icon shows up. I am connected to the vpnc server but how am I to know if I remain connected over time? Without the icon I am forced to periodically issue ifconfig from a root shell to verify my vpnc connection.
Is there any way to have knetworkmanager in 11.0 display the lock icon when connected to a vpnc server?
