Kmix refuses to show in the system tray at boot.

Kmix refuses to show in the system tray at boot. I have gone to settings and made sure “Dock in system tray” is ticked off. I have un-installed and re-installed it. Nothing.

Any ideas?

btw running Suse 11.2 and the desktop is kde 4.3.1

What about “Enable System Tray Volume Control”?

Uwe

Yes I have “Enable System Tray Volume Control” ticked off too.

But it does show up when you want to, just not after a reboot?
Is your KDE set to restore sessions?
Did you exclude the mixer from starting?
(Configure Desktop, Advanced, Session Manager…)

Uwe

Might be a too simple solution, but have you tried expanding the systray (clicking next to the separator left to it)? Does KMix show up then?

I reset the session manager to “Restore previous session”. Somehow it had been set to “Start with an empty session.”, and that did the trick. Thanks.

However, now I get a million pop-ups from Cairo-dock when I boot. I think it has something to do with the change.
