Hello
I recently i encountered strange problem, when i boot up my opensuse and click on little speaker on tray kmix shows up and I can change volume of sound, but after I play some tune in clementine and try to open kmix again, nothing happens. I am wondering if any one has a solution to this problem?
edit: I think I can’t open kmix if I try to use any application that uses sound, I played a movie with VLC and after VLC started i couldn’t open Kmix.

It’s always worth creating a new test user login and see if you experience the same…
You don’t mention your openSUSE version so I will assume openSUSE-11.4. In openSUSE-11.4 I prefer to install pulse audio volume control (pavucontrol) and use that to control my audio volume.

Yes, I have 11.4, I will try to install pulse then and see what I get.
My problem is that Kmix shows up incomplete, it starts with a dancing symbol for Kmix but after approx 50 sec the symbol disappers and nothing happened.
Volume control is missing all the capture and playback controls.
Test sound in Yast is working fine.
I do’nt know how to start to handle this problem,
openSUSE version?
If you start kmix from a terminal, what feedback do you see?
