kmix (KDE Mixer) fails with "Pixmap missing" errors

I like kmix. Best general-purpose audio control app I’ve found.

I use it outside of the KDE Desktop environment, under FVWM. This always worked on Leap 42.1 but fails on 15.1 with many repeats of the following errors:

org.kde.kmix: Pixmap missing. filename= "audio-card-pci"
org.kde.kmix: Pixmap missing. filename= "audio-volume-high"
org.kde.kmix: Pixmap missing. filename= "audio-volume-muted"
org.kde.kmix: Pixmap missing. filename= "dialog-information"

and one:

QDBusConnection: name 'org.kde.kglobalaccel' had owner '' but we thought it was ':1.34'

Any ideas on what package has the pixmaps, and whether installing it would allow kmix to find them? I’ve searched in YaST Software Management and haven’t found anything obvious. I would greatly prefer not to have to install the whole KDE/Plasma environment.

Actually, I probably don’t really need the correct pixmaps – there are already many versions and sizes of icons with those names installed on my system. I’ve tried to point kmix to them without success. Would someone who has kmix running on Leap 15.1 run the following command in a terminal window and post the output here for me?

dconf dump /org/kde/kmix/

Thanks. Alternately, is there a non-desktop-based mixer that shows and controls individual “Playback Streams” like kmix? I’ve tried gmerlin-alsamixer, hwmixvolume and xfce-mixer and they’re not as good.

You could have a look at pavucontrol

Thanks, Knurpht. I just installed pavucontrol and it looks pretty nice. Maybe even better than kmix. I think it’ll do the job.

Still would like the dconf dump if anyone has a minute to post it. I’m trying in general to understand how apps use dconf. I looked at the kmix source code but Qt is so convoluted I couldn’t figure out the correct dconf directories and key/values to set.
