The new kmail doesn’t show any of my old messages under 12.2 after I upgraded from 11. How do I migrate the messages to the new kmail and where are my messages stored? Thanks.

And what upgrade method did you use?
It was the latest 11. I think 11.4. I did a “zypper ref” followed by a “zypper dup” (after disabling the old 11 repositories). I think something didn’t upgrade right. May I can force reinstall some packages (but I don’t know which ones)?
kamil changed its data format I believe so you may need to import the old. Sorry I don’t use kmail so I can’t give instructions. BTW kmail store email in the ~/.kde4 directory
As gogalthorp says, you will need to use Import and point to the current directory which holds the emails. You will then get a completely new set of folders and you will either have to move the emails from the Import folders into the top level folders or leave them in the Import folders and gradually fill up the top level folders with new emails.
Also, if you have a calendar, you need to click on std.ics to import and use your old calendar.
If the contacts do not load, you may need to go into System Settings and configure Personal Information (I think that is where it is).
