It’s me again 
This time I was wondering if there is anyway I can have my KMail client close to the system tray in my KDE system? I am used to Microsoft Office Outlook on Windows where I could minimize the program and it would go to the system tray and not clutter up my task manager. It was still running though, and would pop up a notification whenever I received a new message. Does anyone know how to make this work with KMail in KDE?
You can try AllTray. I use it with TeamViewer to keep it running in the background without closing it. Just get AllTray from the repositories and then hit alt+f2 and type:
AllTray
It will then freeze the screen and ask you for the window you want to dock to the system tray. You click the window and it automatically docks it. To undock it, just right click on the icon in the system tray and choose undock or quit.

I assume you use KDE, so I recommend KDocker, which is a bit more seamless. KDocker is available via Packman.
may be it’s not exactly what you are looking for but take a look under kmail configuration
(note that the access may be different thant whant I’m saying as my system isn’t in english)
so under the kmail configuration, there is an “appearance” section on this section go under the tab named something like “System Tray”
Then check enable sysstem tray icon (or something like) and chose you favorit mode.,… and there it is
Note that you’ll need to have the system tray bar on you desktop
Hm, that seems to be the most seamless method.
Actually, I’ve tried using KMail configuration but it doesn’t do what I would like it to. I’ll give KDocker or AllTray a try. Thanks guys
Kdocker works superbly. AllTray is a bit lacking in functionality compared to Kdocker but it gets the job done. Thanks for that suggestion gropiuskalle.
