KMail doesn't send email

Hi, I have opensuse 11.4 with latest KDE 4.7.2, but kmail does not send emails. All sent emails stay in outbox local folder.

has it always been like this, or did it work for a while, and then stop?

did it work okay when you still had the KDE (4.6.0) that 11.4 shipped with?

any error messages?

Let me guess:

  • this worked fine before
  • you just updated to 4.7.2 from <= 4.7.0

There were some changes in Akonadi, you will have to dig into it a little.
I myself had to redefine (delete and recreate) the agent responsible for
sending the messages. Have a try with the control center -> “akonadi”
