Kmail cur new tmp folders?

Opensuse 13.1 64bit KDE 4.11.3

Yesterday Akonadi/Kmail stopped working and I had to end up reimporting all
my mail folders. That was a pain, wasted some time on this but in the end it
went OK.

I noticed that there are 3 sub folders for each Kmail folder subject I made:
cur tmp new.

The messages imported appear now in the “new” folders.

New messages that I move via kmail UI to a subfolder go to “cur” instead of
“new” (which seems reasonable).

The imported messages do not appear as new (blue font) anymore, but they are
not moved to “cur” folder either.
Should I move them manually from “new” to “cur”?

Well, some go to “cur”, some go to “new”. I do not understand what is going
on!
