Former Ubuntu/Kubuntu user. Looked far and wide for a good binary news reader. Tried Pan and most of the other open source programs but, found them sorely lacking.
Decided to try SUSE 11.1. Works very well. Saw a program called Klibido and decided to give it a try.
This program equals any Win based news reader including Agent, Grabit, or any other you might want to name.
I haven’t totally wrung it out yet, but so far, it does exactly what I want it to do, ie, download mp3s and decode them. The interface is outstanding.
I’m still in the learning curve with this program. It took me a half hour to find the executable (I’m a total Linux novice).
Many, many gold stars to the developer of this fine program.
- roberto1111,
glad you like it, but isn’t this a rather dead project?
Uwe
Dead project, or not, it works, and works well. It does have a small glitch when decoding files with a tilde in the name, but no big deal.
I’m a complete novice with SUSE. Howver, I’m using this particular computer for the internet (to download off of USENET) and to playback CD/DVD or music files in my old Altec speaker system. Everything works perfectly through Dolphin.
I installed VLC and the VLC plugin for Firefox, and so far, have found nothing I can’t see & play including Youtube and Hulu.
No complaints here.
*Roberto,
nice to hear you like it
