kiwi specify package vendor

Hi all,
just the question if I can set from which repo kiwi should use a specific package.
like

Problem: nothing provides libFoo.so.2 needed by Bar-1.1.i586

but in another repo there is Bar-2.1.i586 which does not depend anymore on libFoo.so.2

To answer your question I think:

  1. In YaST / Software Repositories you must add the Repository that contains the file you need.

  2. Open YaST / Software Management and search for the file name in question.

  3. Select the right file using the Versions Tab, using the file from the new repository, as you named it.

Thank You,

I don’t have YaST in kiwi, there is only config.xml Portal:KIWI - openSUSE
In the config.xml is there a way to specify the package like libxine if it should be used from suse/11.3 repo or packman etc. ?

Thank you,
Damian

This forum is meant for SUSE Studio (though the official one is a
http://susestudio.com/forum), and not specific for kiwi.

For kiwi related queries, you’ll get a much better response if you ask
on the kiwi mailing list
(http://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/kiwi-users).

OK, I’ll do so. SuSE Studio is base on Kiwi so I thought, may some1 here has a quick answer.
