On my machine with opensuse 11.1 and kde 4.2 the “Yet Another Weather
Plasmoid” plasmoid-yawp caused the 100 % load with kio_http.

me too. perhaps the plasmoid was or still is broken. i don’t have enough
courage anymore to put it on my desktop.

Hi there, I am part of PlasmaFactory (the group that made yaWP) I am
sorry you are experiencing problems with it, but have a look at
bugs.kde.org. https://bugs.kde.org/buglist.cgi?quicksearch=ALL+kio+cpu.
I also got the same problem when upgrading to 4.2; before it was fine.
A upgrade should fix it though, apparently it was fixed in rev
870284. A work around would be to use curl asynchronously until everyone
has the fix.
