Kile and kdesvn buggy applications

Dear all,
(I am using the latest opensuse os with the 4.7.2 kde), I am having problems with my kdesvn and kile applications.

Especially the kile application, with no reasons, at quite frequent time intervals (which are not constant), like once per 2-3 minutes almost freezes. You press the save button and you have to wait like 30 secs to get a response… or when, for example, you click the ViewPdf button issuing the command for opening okular (its not okulars problem) can take again up to 30 secs.

I have checked by using konsole and I have not found anything weird there to report. My cpu looks to be idle! My only concern is that this might be caused from the network as usually these programs access files of a sshfs mounted partition (gigabit ethernet connection with my server).

Of course this is also a bit weird to be the main cause, as the rest of the programs, that also access the same sshfs partition, do not see to have any problem like that.

What do you think might be the explanation for that?

I would like to thank you in advance for your help

Regards
Alex

Like said in another thread, try NFS instead of sshfs. Can all be done through Yast. Setup the serverside and export the storage folder, setup the client side and mount the export(s) where you want them to be. I do this with /home on my home network and some networks I manage.

I think you have lost slightly my topic focus a bit ( I am not trying to be mean)… NFS might be indeed a good alternative for the sshfs but the point of the topic was … why these two programs face a lot of these unresponsivities? Can it only be the remote mount?

Regards
and thanks
Alex
