kgpg cannot be activated

hello dear folks

i run opensuse 12.2 - and have some keys that (in version 12.1 and earlier ) werer managed with kgpg

the bad thing is that the kgpg application does not start at all.

what can i do!?

launch it in a terminal and copy paste the results back to here…

and, tell us how you installed it…did you upgrade from 12.1 to 12.2, how?

and, what DE you run…and if you are running tumbleweed repos…

if I type kgpg -k into the terminal then the GUI starts up

yes - i have upgraded with zypper-up at least i guess so. I do not rember it e-)xacly now… ;

what can id now!?

i do not run tumbleweed - repos

Uh-oh…

Zypper up is not a system upgrade method. zypper dup is. I wonder what
you may have done…

seems you have now solved the problem of this thread–that is, kgpg does
start…

if you want it to start from an icon, i guess you will need to make one
to do that…

other kgpg switches you might be interested in are:


-e Encrypt file
-k Open key manager
-d Open editor
-s Show encrypted file
-S Sign File
-V Verify signature

Did you install, then try to run kgpg? Then first logout, log back in and check again.
