Kget in KDE 4 won't download

I tried openSUSE 11 today. Very fast.
KDE 4 seems very responsive, too. Very nice.

But I had the following problem:
I access a list of log files on some server.

I open Kget, to download 2 groups of ± 50 files and 2 of ± 10 files.
With the previous Kget, I could mark the first and shift-clic on the last,
to mark a block of files. Can’t be done anymore. That’s problem 1.

So, I manually select a few of files, hit download and specify a
destination. Nothing. All files are marked ‘Delayed’, nothing moves.
A manual DL works, so no network config problems.

I have the same problem with kget (with KDE 4.0.4 and 4.0.82).

Any ideas how to fix this “Delayed” error?

I have also the same problem (KDE 4.0.5 & 4.0.82) :frowning:

its a known bug and is being fixed

So the fix will be included in KDE4.1 Beta 2?

no I think it will be there in the default opensuse cause opensuse devs only provide fixes for the default 11.0 desktop and 4.1 is not supported for opensuse 11, but kde 4 devs may fix it in beta 2 themselves for kde 4.1

Good to know. We’ll just have to wait, then.

Yeah it works in KDE4 Beta 2!!!

alright here is the bug report:

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=396079

if people don’t confirm this then it will never get fixed so please confirm it if u want it fixed in the default OS 11 desktop, its an upstream bug

Yes, the bug is fixed in: KDE 4.0.83 (KDE 4.1 Beta2) “release 1.1”

yeah thats true but I still suggesting confirming that bug so the fix gets back ported to 11.0’s default kde desktop cause I am sure there r some people who won’t upgrade from default kde version.

As a workaround you can use the kde3 version of kget which works fine. I will say it’s specific to opensuse 11 cause when I was running kde4 on openssue 10.3 the kde4 kget worked fine.

its not a problem for me cause I am on beta kde 4.1 but still I think it should be fixed for those not wanting to upgrade from default as well
