"kfd: amdgpu: TOPAZ not supported in kfd"

I have a Toshiba Satellite that has been running Leap 15.3 since it’s release flawlessly. With EOL aproaching I thought it was the time to update to Tumbleweed.
Apparently, everything went well until I tried to boot up the system as I got the following message:

kfd: amdgpu: TOPAZ not supported in kfd
amdgpu: VBIOS did not find boot engine clock value in dependency table. Using Memory DPM Level 0!

How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance :slight_smile: https://mega.nz/file/ahwUVZ5a#sBPOTN1hMVpgYfS_Z_39SmzmqybcufJYMteiSceutZg

PC specs:
Satellite L50-B-1JQ

  • Intel® Core™ i5-4210U
  • AMD Radeon™ R7 M260
  • 4GB RAM

I’m seeing that message on a Dell laptop. But it boots just fine, so I ignore the message.

My laptop is not booting fine. I’m stuck in “terminal mode”.

Hi
This is the likely issue;

amdgpu: VBIOS did not find boot engine clock value in dependency table. Using Memory DPM Level 0!

So why Tumbleweed and not just to Leap 15.4?

Can you post the output from the following at a terminal;

/sbin/lspci -nnk | egrep -A3 "VGA|Display|3D"
cat /etc/os-release
cat /proc/cmdline

Thank you very much for looking into my issue.
I’ve been using Tumbleweed in my main computer for the past 2 years past, and I liked it, so I wanted to transition this computer to TW as well.
As I can’t take a screenshot, here’s a picture.

Hi
So it’s an optimus setup primary intel offload AMD.

Are there any BIOS settings regarding the graphics adapters?

Where you using both graphics cards in Leap 15.3, or just didn’t know you had two?

Hi
The BIOS has no options regarding the graphics cards.
Tbh the graphics worked great out-of-the-box with Leap 15.3. Given that it had a good performance I assume it was using AMD, but I’ve never really checked.

Hi
I suspect just the intel gpu…

So how did you upgrade this system? Or did you do a complete new install?

Also what desktop environment are you running?
