Gentlemen, I installed 11.3 on my wifes comp after she commented how well it worked on my comp. All went well , in fact better than the install to my comp. It picked up the wide screen monitor and set the resolution etc perfectly.
However, when I went to install Flash 64 bit I couldn’t enter the password.
After playing around with typing/testing in Office I did notice a slight delay on the first and second letter typed but after that all went as per normal.
I then experimented typing in the Menu search box, i.e. typing in the Password, it worked perfectly…
I then took the KB apart and blew air through it, no difference.
I removed her KB and attached my non USB KB and tried it but that doesn’t get recognised even after a reboot. So, can someone tell me how to change the KB, I can only see me reinstalling 11.3 on her comp with my KB to see if it removes the prob and if so I will then replace the KB.
I have checked the Bios , USB Keybrd is selected.
cheers,
Eddie.
are you saying that everything works ok except you cannot type the
password into the YaST blank?
what is your desktop environment, your graphics card chip and try
turning off desktop effects and try again…

I feel annoyed that I can’t put my wide range of languages on stupid
Facebook. For example, I speak Sarcasm, fluently spoken and written,
and Various Forms of Geek…

what is your desktop environment,… KDE4 …your graphics card chip and try
turning off desktop effects and try again… Desktop affects? I don’t have any running other than the normal install.
For example, I speak Sarcasm, fluently spoken and written,
and Various Forms of Geek. Your Sarcasm drips through your words…LOL.
I would simply like to know how to use another keybrd without reinstalling. I tried my non USB keybrd and it didn’t get picked up by 11.3.

shut down the computer…
plug in a key board which you know works perfectly on another computer…
boot from the Live CD…does the keyboard work ok?
if so, then shut down the machine, and boot from the hard drive…does
the keyboard work ok? if it does you are finished, right? if it does
not work perfectly it means you have a broken system (because you just
checked the keyboard as ok with the live cd…)
