Keyboard shortcut

Hi i am new to linux but already using ubuntu gnome quite a while , and moving to KDE based open suse …

I am confused about the keyboard shortcut , I use ctrl f4 a lot to close tabs in my browser … but in KDE … It’s the shortcut to change the forth Desktop …

I already go to system settings system keyboard but there was no ctrl+F4 shortcuts there i am confused … I really used this shortcut a lot and it’s bugging me …

And one more things … About the touchpad , can i make it dissapear on inactive when i am typing , i’ve already checked the touchpad in system settings but there is no such option ?
Can i do something to change this ?

This is my first post , sorry if there’s a spelling mistake or rude language…

Thanks btw

In:
Personal Setting > Worspace Behaviour > Virtual Desktops > Switching
you can set shotcuts for “Switch to Desktop X”. Worth a try.

Another place where you can change those shortcuts is:
Personal Setting > Shortcuts and Gestures > Global Shortcuts
You’ll find them under ‘KDE Component: KWin’. Or at least, I find them there. :stuck_out_tongue:

Owh , yea i found it , sorry for not looking hard enough :frowning:

Yea i can erase the shortcut but where can i input the new shortcut for closing firefox tab ?

:edited … little typo …

That is something that needs to be done in Firefox, and not in Personal Settings as Firefox in not a ‘proper’ KDE application. How precisely … hmmmm.

Maybe this is helpful:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Keyconfig_extension
It is an add-on, which after installing and giving it a cursory glance does seem to allow editing shortcuts, including the one for closing tabs. See if that works for you.

Are you using KDE because you want to? You can use Gnome on opensuse as
well, if you wish.

Okay thanks anyway …
