After update to kernel 220.127.116.11 my USB keyboard and mouse freezes after 2-3 second of inactivity. Using the mouse/keyboard for one to two seconds brings it back to life again, but it will freeze again. No problem in tty session, but the problem exists in the login screen. The problem only exists using USB keyboard/mouse.
When I first installed openSUSE 11.3, under the original kernel I also had system lock ups. After updating KDE to version 4.4.4 “release 8”, such issues seemed to go away for me. I also have upgraded to kernel 18.104.22.168 to fix some USB 3 issues, but the problem was gone with the KDE update, before the kernel update. I would first ask, what problems were you trying to solve by updating your kernel to version 2.6.35 and don’t you still have an option to load your older kernel from your grub menu?
Similar story here : After upgrading to Linux 22.214.171.124-0.1-desktop x86_64 (it is a mandatory upgrade due to security fixes)
I ‘lost’ my Bluetooth Keyboard Logitech DiNovo Edge. What happens exactly is that, while I am at the login screen the keyboard
works, after login to KDE (4.4.4 (KDE 4.4.4) “release 2”) it works but after a few seconds of inactivity it stops working. Note
that the bluetooth pairing is happening with its dongle without any problem, but somehow it stops working.
My openSUSE is 11.3 (x86_64). Also if I disconnect, and the system goes back to the login screen my keyboard works again,
but after I login again, after a few seconds my keyboard stops working again.
Also had this problem after teh kernel update to 126.96.36.199 on a 32 bit system with KMS+Intel Video. No keybord of no mouse (both USB). I booted to level 3 where I could use the keyboard with no problem en downgraded the kernel back to 2.6.34 and the problem was gone.
My laptop (64 bit) did not have problems and also has external USB mouse and keyboard.
I have the same problem!! After updating today to kernel 188.8.131.52-0.1-desktop, my logitech keyboard and mouse freezes for some seconds every some seconds.
My environment: openSUSE 11.3 x64, gnome, ati radeon.
I have NO error on dmesg!!!
Have you seen/tried that workaround (copy/paste from comment in bug report) :
A Japanese user reported the problem which looks like this.
His analysis is that it was caused by USB auto-suspend function.
He said that the workaround of this is to disable the auto-suspend:
“echo -1 > /sys/bus/usb/devices/?-?/power/autosuspend” (from root user)
where “?-?” is the USB device number (can be found by comparing ‘lsusb’ output
with idVendor/idProduct file under “/sys/bus/usb/devices/?-?” directory).
He reported that this problem occurs at Lenovo USB Trackpoint keyboard.
Logitech G700 mouse does not occur (no freeze).
