keyboard logitech k120 don't work

Hello.

I just plugged my logitech k120 keyboard in USB and it doesn’t work. I don’t know why, I tried to google people with same issue, but I didn’t find anything.
I’m using opensuse 12.3 with KDE.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

EDIT
Any keyboard don’t work.

I found some threads, but no one helped to me. First new thing what I know is that if I put keyboard in USB where was wireless mouse during installation, keyboard works, but mouse doesn’t work in any other USB port (same issue as with keyboard).

Someone said that I have to try create new user and test if he’ll have same issue. Yes, he’ll have same issue. I think it’s KDE problem, but I don’t know how to fix it.

Does anybody know how to help me, please?

why do you think it is a KDE problem?

from what you have told us i think it is a hardware problem: one USB
port works with either a mouse or a keyboard, the others 3 USB ports
do not work at all, with either mouse or keyboard…

can you boot to a different operating system, or boot to a live
system, like openSUSE Gnome Live…do all the USB ports work then?

or, do you have another USB device you can plug in…does it work in
all USB ports, or only in the one where the keyboard and mouse will work?

I have Windows 8 / OpenSuSE dualboot and on Windows everything works fine.

I came to the same result (one usb works and three not) after sending my last post. I tried to plug-in keyboard, mouse and external hard disk. Every time works only one device.

How can I “activate” the other ports?

please show us the terminal output and input, as well as the
beginning prompt and exit prompt, from these three commands

lsusb
lspci
dmesg

copy/paste the in/output back to this thread using the instructions
here: http://goo.gl/i3wnr

you can run them all and then just do one copy paste…

btw, i don’t think i know how to make it work, but most anyone who
can will probably wanna see that output, first…

dmesg
This output is bigger than count of lines in terminal.

I “solved” it. I connected in active USB adapter plug and in adapter plug I connected keyboard with mouse. Hahaa!

And I found that my notebook (HP ProBook 4740s) has problems with USB in kernel version under 3.8, so I must wait for new kernel in Suse. I’m glad I solved it and many thanks to you, DenverD.

i am also happy you solved it (very happy), because i was completely
out of ideas (and had hoped someone with some good ideas would come
along and get you going–and, that someone turned out to be
you…well done!!!)
