I have a UK keyboard, so I selected the United Kingdom layout on installation of OpenSUSE 11.3.
However, something keeps automatically adding the USA layout, and switching to it ! How can I prevent this annoying and intrusive behaviour ? Deleting the USA layout is not enough, it seems. It just restores it again !

I have no idea why, but you could start by saying what desktop you use and
what version, what repos you have installed, update state of your machine…

(from 11.2 x86_64 “Emerald” at Telcontar)
you might try going into YaST > Hardware > Keyboard Layout (or desktop
setup, which ever it is on your version) and make sure UK is still set…
and, if it is, but US is being used then set it to US, agree to
that…do a normal shutdown and when you come back up go again into
YaST and then change US to UK…
i do not know why…but sometimes moving a setting OFF of what you
want and then back will make it start paying attention…(magic)
