Keyboard issues 13.2 64bit, gnome

Hi Everone,

Just installed openSUSE 13.2 64bit, gnome.

Im having problems with my keyboard settings. I know this is a common problem on linux machines, however I cant get it fixed.
It displaced backspace, ] :* and {](http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accolade_(leesteken)) and ](http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vierkante_haak) and )](http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haakje) are missing. The keyboard is a Trust 16593, but also a wired brand less keyboard gives the problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Many thanks in advance!

DA

Have you set the correct layout in YaST->Hardware->System Keyboard Layout?
And have a look in GNOME’s keyboard settings as well, they might override it.

If that doesn’t help:
Does it work in text mode? Does it work with a fresh user account?
What exact keyboard layout does your keyboard have?

As to this being " a common problem on linux machines", I never had any problem whatsoever on any openSUSE machine with german keyboards…
