I’m installing OpenSUSE on Vmware Workstation. My host is Windows Vista. I use the 11.1 DVD. At the welcome menu I can start the install and the installation goes fine until I have to type my Username and passwords etc. Because the keyboard doesn’t respond. It just doesn’t work. I have a PS2 keyboard and have Legacy USB disabled in the BIOS.
No one? It’s really weird. At the menu where i can choose ‘Installation’ the keyboard works. When i need to type my username and password the keyboard doesn’t work. It’s an Logitech PS/2 keyboard.
Same problem here as well. Initial install of 10.2 went fine until it asked me to choose the root password. No luck with 3 different ps2 keyboards. Can’t anyone here help us???
if you push the “Num Lock” or “Caps Lock” button does the keyboard’s
lights/LEDs go on/off?
at the very first screen during the boot (when the screen turns green
and asks if you wanna boot from hard disk, install, etc) can you type
into the blank below all of those various choices?
hmmmm…during the install process, i think very early on (before it
asks for root password selection) it gives the chance to select a
keyboard layout…and, on that page there is also (i think) a blank
where you can type in a test to see if it is working right–is it there?
or does it NEVER work anywhere, from initial boot onward??
if it never works answer:
has it ever and/or does it still work with any other operating system?
what is the brand and model number of the computer and/or motherboard?
how old is this hardware (computer/motherboard and keyboard)
